1/5/1915 The Lusitania departs from New York… with three mysterious extra passengers

The Lusitania departs from New York. The British ocean liner is bound for Liverpool. As well as the crew of nearly 700 there are some 1,266 passengers, who have defied German warnings not to travel on British flagged ships.

Shortly after the ship’s departure, three stowaways are found onboard: three German stowaways. The ship has a detective onboard who interrogates these mysterious men. The Germans are not cooperative and so are locked up, on the assumption that they are spies.
